Core 2 Lecture: "The Environment and Industrialization: Alienation of the Mind, Body, and Soul." Given on 12 April 2016.
Core 2 was a course in SJC's Core Curriculum that studied the revolutions that helped shape the modern world: the Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment, the political revolutions of the 18th and 19th centuries (such as the American and French Revolutions), and the Industrial Revolution.
This lecture was part of Core 2's discussion of the themes in Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, particularly how the environmental changes and degradation seen during the Industrial Revolution led to poorer mental and physical health.

Core 5 Lecture: "Why Action on Climate Change Doesn't Happen." Given on 4 September 2015
Core 5 is the first in a two-course sequence that explores the role of humanity in its natural surroundings: how it affects its environment and vice versa.
This lecture capstones a section of the course on climate change, unpacking the reasons that action on combating climate change is incredibly difficult to achieve.
